Why am I running for office?

As a District 2 resident, I have experienced first-hand the lack of basic services, inadequate public safety, minimal economic development, and “non-solutions based” thinking from our city leadership. As a mother of two, my appreciation for the resources people around me do not have, is heart-breaking

Most of all, I recognize the desperate need for sound leadership that will re-stabilize the District and form a balanced foundation for responsible land use, expanded resources for our community, safe neighborhoods and consistent business growth.

Like no other candidate, my background and diverse experience provide me a unique set of tools from which to address the diversity of both state and municipal issues. As a small business owner, my appreciation for the sacrifice and dedication of hard-working men and women, coupled with an understanding of the risk and personal sacrifice taken daily by business owners small, medium, and large, serves as the basis for my balanced perspective.

We need change, the east side has been stagnant for too long, and we need to empower our neighbors, our neighborhood associations, and our community members.

My experience with your support.

Together, we can move beyond the existing community division, preserve history and unify our voices for a better way of life.

Provide Pathways To Success

  • Provide students with a seamless path from education to employment

  • Expand equitable access to public services and COVID-19 relief

  • Enhance senior services based on YOUR needs: home deliveries, access to rides, and routine health screenings.

Invest in our Neighborhoods

  • Reinstate weekly walk-in meetings and daily callbacks to community members.

  • Be an advocate for District 2 in 2022 City Bond allocations

  • Improve 3-1-1 and code compliance response

Comprehensive Public Safety

  • Build on community policing best practices

  • Enhance services for victims of trauma

  • Work with SAPD and community groups to heal tensions

Champion Economic Development

  • Advocate for responsible land use and growth

  • Recruit more jobs of varying industries into District 2

  • Support small businesses in District 2 with funding and education

My strong commitment to small and minority-owned businesses, safer neighborhoods and fiscal responsibility has been evident through my work as a Chamber of Commerce President/CEO.

As the city council’s appointment to the VIA Metropolitan Transit board, I fought for and helped deliver millions of dollars for public transportation. Her personal character and honesty were acknowledged when named a member of the city’s Ethics board in 2018.

My decision to undertake this campaign was driven by the obvious needs of the district, the lack of positive growth, and the absence of effective leadership.

My number one commitment is to be the voice of all constituents.
